Acrylic on Canvas
Example of a Filipino Baroque
an art critic once wrote…
Ryan Carreon’s watercolor and oil paint works show the artist’s deft handling of the water and oil mediums. The composition is illustrative of the FILIPINO BAROQUE sensibility with a heightened sense of " HORROR VACUI" where every inch of the pictorial space is cramped with images in abundance. The cubistic style, the intricate yet unified composition and confident use of water and oil colors expose the artist’s background as a consistent winner in various painting and poster-making contests ( both local and international) during his gradeschool and highschool days.
We might be looking now at a Future National Artist.
