Kurrentgasse, Vienna, Austria, 2014. The streetname alone could be considered a bad omen, as Kurrentgasse derives from the profession of tax collectors (Kurrenten). Next, there is this baroque monstrosity above the front entry of Nr. 12. The sculpture depicts two kids playing with a griffin, a creature of mythology, half egale, half lion. I may be totally off track as far as art is concerned, but do hope the artist was making fun of the tax collector, who ordered the sculpture…
